It’s a succulent celebration of charcuterie and craft cider. FairVote Minnesota is collaborating with Sociable Cider Werks and the Beer Dabbler to present Best of the Wurst, a festival and ranked election of artisan sausages created by some of the Twin Cities’ top chefs.

The event will feature live local music, sausage tasting from two dozen local purveyors, craft cider and beer, and a demonstration of Ranked Choice Voting as guests choose the very Best of the Wurst.

Andouille, bratwurst, chorizo . . . sausage is one of the world’s oldest, most beloved and most wide-ranging foods, offering limitless taste possibilities. Since antiquity, epicurean adventurers around the globe have put minced meat, salt and seasoning into casings and savored the result. The Twin Cities sausage scene is hotter than ever, and Best of the Wurst promises a slate of candidates that’s as diverse as it is delicious.

And it’s a tasty showcase for Ranked Choice Voting, as a way to vote. Attendees will use Ranked Choice Voting to select the winner of a people’s choice award, and a panel of food critics will use RCV to elect their choices for Best of the Wurst.

A special VIP reception from noon to 2 pm will include exclusive chef demos with Pork & Pickle chef Geoff Hausmann plus unlimited food and drink. General admission runs from 2 to 6 pm, with guests invited to sample all the sausages they can eat, plus one free craft cider or beer. Don’t miss this unique event celebrating spring, sausage, cider and democracy.
