Current site of Thai restaurant at 2650 Hennepin Avenue South will become a Walgreens

Roat Osha will soon have a new home at Calhoun Square. The new and improved Thai restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner and late night. Late night happy hour will be seven days a week.

Roat Osha will move into the former Chiang Mai Thai space on Girard Avenue, directly across from the parking ramp.

The exterior and interior of the space will be completely renovated. Roat Osha’s goal has always been to have fun while serving great food and good drinks. The new menu will continue to feature authentic, distinctively crafted Thai food with a modern twist. “The new space will have the same feel, as far as the decor goes, but we plan to revamp the menu.” says owner, Steve Heins. There will be more tap beers to support the local breweries.

“We are excited to help a great local operator and community member continue with their success story; their addition to Calhoun Square adds to the great mix of local and national operators, and allows us to continue to be a destination for great lunches, dinners and events, ” said Stuart Ackerberg, Ackerberg CEO. Ackerberg owns and operates Calhoun Square.

Owners Steve Hein and his wife Somsap Hein opened Roat Osha at 2650 Hennepin Avenue South, in 2009; since then, their reputation for quality Thai food and a great dining experience have garnered a loyal following. They will make way for a new Walgreens pharmacy at Roat Osha’s current location on Hennepin. The restaurant is slated to open in August.
